Installing Zorin OS 9 CORE
Zorin OS 9 Core edition and Education editions can be downloaded from the link below. Simply choose Core or Educational and select either 32bit or 64bit.
Download Zorin OS 9
Once you have downloaded your chosen "iso" image that matches your systems architecture (32bit/64bit), you will then need to burn this image to a DVD. For software that can burn an iso image, search for "dvd iso burning software" in the search box above. Your computer probably already has CD/DVD burning software such as "Brasero, K3B, Nero, CDBurnerXP or Roxio". Once you have burned your chosen "iso" image of Zorin OS to a DVD, you will need to leave the DVD in the DVD drive and reboot your system (assuming this is the intended machine for installation). As your system reboots, you will need to press the appropriate key to access your system's BIOS settings. On many systems this key will be "F8", "F11" or "F12". Most systems will display the a message indicating which key needs to be pressed. Once you have access to your BIOS settings, you will need to modify the boot order of your system to boot from CD/DVD first. Once you have made this change, you can reboot your system and follow the Instruction guide below.
From the Welcome Screen you have the options of trying out Zorin before installing. If you choose the "Try Zorin" option, you can try Zorin without installing anything to your computer. To install Zorin to your hard disk, choose the "Install Zorin" option. Also from this screen you can specify the language you wish to use throughout the installation. In this example English has been selected. You may also click on the link to read the release notes.

From this screen you must choose your installation options. In this example, I am installing to an empty disk with no other operating systems present. If another another operating system is found, Zorin should find this and give you further options. In this example I have chosen the option "Erase Disk and install Zorin". If you need to manually partition your disk, then you can choose the "Something else" option. Once you are happy with your selections, click on the "Install Now" button.
Where are you?
From this screen your current location is selected automatically. You can change this if this is not the correct location by typing your location into the search box below. This location setting will be used for your system time zone settings.
At this screen you must select your keyboard settings/layout. In this example I have chosen "English (UK)". You can also test your keyboard settings by typing into the test area provided.
Who are you?
From this screen you need to create a new user, supply a password and give your computer a name (hostname). Select the option for "require my password to login" as extra security (default option).
