Configure Privacy Settings on Ubuntu
Configuring your Privacy Settings in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
By default, when you access your dashboard menu from the Unity desktop your recent applications, files and downloads are displayed. If you don't wish to see this information, you can quickly configure your settings to stop this. To configure your privacy settings click on the Ubuntu logo in the upper left hand corner of your screen (Dash Home). In the search box type privacy. An icon should now appear with the words
"Security & Privacy". Click on this icon to access your privacy settings. Now simply click on the tabs and select or deselect items to be included in your Dash Home screen.
